I'm so disappointed by the lack of turn out this year. Our problem over the years is that we took so many players advice on our program. In the long run the players have brought the team to where it is. I share the majority of the blame-- but it is a crock to hear brown(not Aaron),scribner, the mitchells,hunters,michaels,rodriguez,mize,clark,workman, white, jackson, metzger, hill, bruce,albright,logan,taylor,harold,james,reed, tyus,carson, rowe,perry, rose are not showing up for practice. talked all that smack and as usual this crap. If we had people show up for fundraisers or at least followup on what they promise, there wouldn't be a players fee. Plus players are taking jerseys. For What? (High school is over). Bill and I have sponsored the players and this team to the point it affected bill's family and me mentally. We are grown men and should be handling grown men's responsibilities. what sacrifices must be made? You guys just don't understand that if this team is of championship quality, we could be getting paid at some point. But i guess it shows some players commitment by lack of exercise, and ability. No training in the offseason. Who can bench 375 or run a 4.6 40? You guys just sit back and wait till whoever comes along as Coach, or offensive,defensive coordinator and complain. When some of you guys haven't done crap---- And some haven't still paid their players fee from last year. But you still got pants didn't you? I think it is crap that you have got AB out there coaching and bringing new ideas to the table and players won't give him a chance. Every year you guys want someone different first joe smith, then craig, then harold, curt, Coop, fullerton,wood. Now AB. Guys come from out of town want to play but don't come to practice or we have to give gas money. I see why springfield is like it is. Now decatur is on the verge.
I would still like to salvage the season-- Anyone interested in being on this team Be at practice Tues july 11 @ 6:30 for a team meeting to discuss these issues and even the players fee. If you don't come, don't be on our website talking anymore crap. Practices will be tues and thurs from here on out. there will be no preseason games. Our season won't start till Aug- that should give some of you lazy bastards to get your crap together.\

I 'M NOT SURE WHY THE HUNTERS ARE ON THERE THE ONLY TIME I GOT ON THE WEB SITE WAS TO DISCUSS A FUNDRAISING IDEA, THAT SOME HOW FEEL THROUGH. I RETIRED LAST YEAR SO i WON'T BE A PRACTICE, AS FAR AS BRETT HE IS WORKING 12 -16 HR SHIFTS AT THAT BIG GAS SPILL SITE IN HARRISTOWN 6 AND 7 DAYS A WEEK, SO UNTIL THATS OVER HE PROBABLY WON'T BE THERE EITHER. BRETT TOLD ME THAT SOME OF THE PLAYERS FROM LAST YEAR TOLD HIM THE BEARS HAD FOLDED WHEN HE SEEN THEM AT THE GAS STATION. I put the hunters on there because i was just naming people who should be there at practice and some people are going to take it personal- whatever-- I'm just addressing the fact that people should be at practice. We've made changes to get people out. but no changes in the players attitude- So were we wrong to change our program to cater to players who don't give a crap. I think we were. A few players show up all the time, some do have to work, some live out of town. I just wish there was an effort for guys to try to come to at least one practice. I was told that brett was speading the rumor about the team. Also what happened to the softball tourny? I just wish you'd follow through on things you say you're gonna due. I know you're retired- but what's your goal here? coach,player,helper,sponsor getter what? If your gonna help --- Help then-

About the softball tourn., thats a good question. It was said at the meeting that A.B. was to put it in the papers to get teams. Never made it in the Herald and Review, don't know why it didn't. I find it to be difficult to, say the least, to throw any type of tourn. when there are no teams that know anything about it, ie...date, costs, location, etc......I will be happy to help out where I am needed, but I look on the web site for any new info, just to find it has not been changed for a long time. Brett was told about the team by a couple of people, Taylor, Stoughtenbrough, Dodd and others, but said if it makes you feel all peachy to blame him for the rumors so be it. Do we need to get hold of Jim Dodd so that we can have somebody to change the home screen with updates, and important info. I will not be there on the 11th, due to the fact that my work schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, and Sundays. Mark Hunter
i can honestly say i didn't start the rumors i had heard and i asked....i asked how many people where coming out to practices and trying to get off for them but im working 97 hours a week right now i've had 2 days off since june 3rd.....i went to every seven on seven practice.....and you guys know im dedicated i used to drive from st louis w/ my own gas money just to make it to practices last year when 12 people would show up......and i fa sure already got the new jordan cleats to play so im ready......but right now work is my life im lucky to even be home right now to type this so please don't accuse me of anything everyone knows i had one of the biggest hearts out there last year i even tried to please everyone and play quarterback last year to make everyone happy......everyone that plays knows i will be out there and already in shape so you dont have to worry about that....but july 11th i will not be there sorry next practice after that i will try my hardest but if there is a team and more then 3 people at practices i'll be there......so just take the Brett Hunter out the mouths cause you will see me there w/ the number six jersey on giving you my 120% thanks and have a wonderful night :)

i have been thier where the hell have u been cope u gave the team to ab never even saw u thier i cam their about 2 weeks ago noboady their and been their every day after that on tue and thurs nobody but me mike and nate so dont call us out **** were the only one who played when other didnt ask bill we were thier ask the girl who runs the trailer maybe if u and ab get out ur pissy moods toward eachother the team woul dgo somewhere
Thanks for the input- but before this gets out of context- what i heard about brett i was just told that, i wasn't accusing or blaming, i was asking what was going on- But the story behind the message i posted is simple, we need players to come to practice, we need people to help get sponsors and help fundraise, we need help keeping up our field and help the sports complex with their maintenance, we can get others to help fundraise and the workday- we really need players at practice and if you're hurt or something we need mentors or assistant coaches, announcers for the game. should no one be on here getting bent out of shape about anything because I'm not personally attacking anyone unless you're saying something about me. And anthony would you call me?
Yes i did ask Ab to run the team this year.I have been having personal problems in my life i need to tend to this year. My mom is not doing well and i broke my hand and had to get pins put in . i'm not trying to piss anyone off i just want you guys to come to practice- but to see how everyones responding is very disheartening. I have never acted ill towards anyone on our team. I make sure everyone gets a chance because I missed mine- I give money to players, drive people home, rent vans or buses, put up the scoreboard, strip the field, attend the meeting at the sports complex, go to the league meeting in another town- be at all the fundraisers in the previous years, bought helmets, got sponsors, and sponsored the team myself.
Does this makes me better than anyone? no. I do it because i want to see at least 1 person better their life,family, or someday go pro- what's wrong with that?
Don't know if i said i was actually going to play. i have talked to anthony personally when we found out ab was going to coach. thought that was a good move for the d-town bears. i believe anthony and myself both said we would consider coming back. now, anthony has back problems, i just got divorced and am working a lot (rotating shifts mind you). i think it is funny how near the end coop said he wasn't singling anyone out, yet in the very first message that is all you did. then you single out again accusing someone of doing drugs and maybe that is why his back is messed up....c'mon. is that how you broke your hand cause you were on coke. of course not. the bears are where they are simply due to bad luck. all of us who started there depended on the bears to get us somewhere. some of us found jobs, some of us found ladies (and then lost them....lol). anyway, luck, apparently has not been on the bears' side the last few years. you simply cannot get on people who don't show up to practice because they have to work and put dinner on the table. to sit there and type up a bunch of ridiculing words towards someone w/out facts or just because you're frustrated is ridiculous. i hope and pray that everything goes well for the team this year and that no injuries fall upon anyone. i pray you all do well to the best of your ability. and anthony, keep your cool on the 11th cause i know the drug thing pissed you off. so w/ that...good luck and stay strong!
Well said Scrib.....I didnt know Vinny was in bad health sorry to hear about that. He was very well liked at R and R. I worked with him on several jobs,he often spoke about tossing you around in wrestling matches. I tried to get him to come out and play ball but he said he didnt want to hurt you.....WELL you all know anything worth doing isnt ever easy, try a little harder at being a team and most everything else will fall in place.
I dont know whats goin on due to work ab should have said so i was there quit a bit so dont say im not commited i played sick, hurt, family problems anything you can imagine and iv been there iv handed out money in the past years to play iv came out on workdays and helped i also made the team money this year with abs foundraiser so if u wanna keep this team together me and my brother will b there tonite at the meeting hope yall will b there all i ask is dont say im not commited cuz thats BULL**** see yall there peace MITCHELL75
